The Yochanon family had four windows on the front side of their house, two upstairs and two downstairs, that they wanted matching shades for. When we came for the initial consultation, we found that housing the upstairs shades internally would mean switching to a thinner fabric to make room. Since they wanted everything uniform, that meant four sets of exterior bamboo roller shades.
We measured the two sizes of windows, and designed two sets each of appropriately sized fine bamboo sheets. The downstairs windows didn’t have quite enough overhead space on the outsides to fit in the rollers, so he had to install a pair of outcroppings for them. Once we had a substrate to build on, we attached all four roller sets, along with an added set of tracks on each outside window frame to hold the sheets in place. The bamboo sheets themselves were the easiest part to install.
