Motorized exterior shades are all the rage these days, and Mrs. Kelly and her husband were interested in getting in on that. They decided their ground floor windows would do well with exterior shades. There wasn’t much room on the inside of the window, and they had a splitter in the wall nearby.
The sand-colored basketweave roller shades from Lutron best suited the window’s dimensions and the Kellies’ decoration scheme. We installed the roller in a little overhang above the window, and there was just enough space to fit the shades inside the frame. Wiring the motorized exterior shades’ roller into the house’s power system was once of the easiest electrical jobs we’ve had to date. We finished the job by setting up the remote control and making sure the shades could “hear” it through the window while it’s closed.
