The Bydes wanted to get more use out of their patio, even when the sun and wind made it unpleasant. They requested some patio shades that would block just enough sunlight to prevent painful glare and sunburn, and also stand up to the wind.
Fibreglass-coated nylon yarn is the best choice for sunlight shading in adverse wind conditions. Since Mrs. Byde was the one who cared the most about these new exterior shades’ looks, she was the final judge on color and pattern. We cut the simple, dark olive material she selected to size and gave them some metal tracks to keep them in place. The Bydes didn’t want to bother with maintaining a motorized system, so we gave the rollers a simple drawcord each. A total of two sets to block out the angles they got the most obnoxious sunlight and wing from were all the Bydes needed.
